. . . and we're back.
It took me a little over an hour to walk up to Albertson's, pick out what I wanted, and come back. Now I've only got 25 minutes to kill before class :)

Our oh-so-eccentric Professor showed us an oh-so-eccentric short film, today. It was by Salvador Dali and some other dude, and was supposed to show what dreams are like. Very interesting, and, in a lot of ways, successful.
I had Pa take me in for my permit today (Monday), but the DMV is conveniently closed on Sundays and Mondays. At least this gives me more time to study.
Pa and Bernie are away for the weekend. And I'm still alive.
I ended up installing Windows XP twice - the second time only because I hit a button I didn't think was final that started the install process. Windows started up with no display, so I was forced to start again from the start. These difficulties were coupled with the fact that my "system restore" cd had a big chip out of the edge of it.
We drew an animal skull in art today. It was a bit of a challenge, so it was fun :)
Argh, there's nothing to do here. I've got yet another hour to kill before class (and I'll probably have to kill a couple more when class, inevitably gets out early) and there's simply not a lot to do. I'm trying to head to Dane's "other band's" website, (which I think is theanomalies.moonfruit.com/) but these computers won't let me install the Flash 6 player, so I'm screwed. I've already been yelled at for playing Solitaire, even though there are no signs that say "no games."
Here I sit, again, in the computer lab. Class was supposed to get out at 3:15, but it ended at 1:30 due to it being the first day (for Tu/Th classes.) I'm spending the next 3 hours in here, waiting for my English Composition class.
Just got out of today's class (Design 1). Normally, the class will run until about 4pm, but we were let out of class early since it's our first day. Pa said he won't be here until 4, and not to bother trying to call if I get out early. So, here I sit. I had to login to this machine and change my password to "a mix of upper, lower and numeric" values. Here's hoping I won't forget it, now. On the wall, there's a list of the "Level III Sex Offenders in our community." You know; for my protection. *shudders*
School starts tomorrow for me. I did a bit of laundry so I'd have something to wear, and celebrated my lack of schoolwork by playing guitar for a bit. Still looking for a job, so I'll be heading in to Albertsons tomorrow to talk to the manager about working there.
Mailed a couple letters and went shopping with Pa. We found some good buys on groceries, so now I've got a number of things to munch on.
Aaaarggggg, my dad can really annoy me, sometimes! I went to go ask him a simple question about budgeting and car loans and it turned into a 30-minute lecture about getting a job. Hello?? I've been trying since I got here!
Balanced my checkbook today.
Last night I tried installing some leftover laptop RAM Bernie had found. As it turns out, my laptop doesn't like having both PC133 and PC100 sticks at the same time. After much slot-changing, my laptop refused to boot. I was on the phone for an hour with Gateway tech support (who was, surprisingly, very easy to work with) and was told I'd have to send it in for repairs. Thankfully, it's still under warranty, so I'll just have to send it out when a box shows up in a couple days (he even waived the $44 shipping for me.) They may need to - *gulp* - format my hard drive . . .
Dad took us to a friend's house for dinner, tonight. After eating, I was reduced to watching Monday Night Football. I'm feeling oddly tired/depressed/lonely. I think I'm going to watch some tv, soon.
Pa and I just showed up back at home after driving down to drop Mathys off at home. I got to visit with Steph from around 11 to 4, which was good, since we hadn't seen each other in a bit.
The concrete truck showed up a little before 8am, today. We just finished 5 hours of pouring, pushing, leveling and finishing. Time for a break.
Now that my laptop has juice, I can surf from my room, now. So, that's where I'm posting from.
After planning on getting up earlier this morning to help with the concrete form building, I woke up with a massive headache. Mathys was kind enough to bring me some water, and dad doesn't seem to be holding anything against me. It's raining right now, so we're kind of at a stand-still, for the time being. Pa and Mathys left to buy groceries.
Got up at a comfortable hour, today. Turned in applications after minimal arm-twisting. Some positive leads.
Stephanie and Crystal (her roommate) have recently updated their website. In addition to the new design, check out their new blog, which has already become a daily for me.
I was busy chatting on the phone with Stephanie while half-watching The Joe Schmoe Show, when I found myself in a seemingly dream-like state where dreams I'd forgotten drifted in and out of clarity. It was in those hazy moments when it all seemed to start coming together. First as a trickle, and then much more quickly, the reality of my being in Bremerton and starting school by the end of the month hit me. Shaking my head, I continued my converstation. . .
Well, only ended up getting 1.5 hrs in, today. Tomorrow, I'm off to OC to get classes and finaid all sorted out. And me, being the genius I am, forgot I needed to request a transcript from GFU until today. *grumblegrumble*
Mathys and I are in Bremerton. He'll be here until the end of the week, so I won't be alone for a bit. Steph went to the beach with some friends, today.
This caught my attention:
Not much new today. Wrote part of a song today that I'm pretty happy with. Tomorrow (Thursday) is my last day here.
We took a trip to Beaverton today to go to Costco and some other area stores today. They took me by Gateway Country to order a power cord to replace the one I lost. The guy who helped me was named Hans. That was strange. Before we headed back, they let me romp around Guitar Center, which I hadn't had a chance to do before then. It was supposed to get up to 95 degrees in Portland, a record breaking heat, but we saw the car's outdoor thermometer read 100.
Just made myself a bowl of Mac and Cheese with hotdog slices and extra cheese. This is making headline news because I have never, in fact, made my own Mac and Cheese (with or without hotdog slices and extra cheese.) It tastes better this way. Mmmmmm . . . cheese . . .
Today was the first day of school for the Guhfooers. I got an email from Prof. Wenz this morning asking if I wanted to be in choir this year (I of course told him that I'd love to, but it wasn't going to happen.)
